In a joint scientific symposium, the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation and the Board of Trustees awarded the 2020 Heinrich Wieland Prize to  

Professor Dr Craig M. Crews 

Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA

for pioneering targeted protein degradation as a new principle in pharmacology 

and

the 2021 Heinrich Wieland Prize was awarded to

Professor Dr Thomas Boehm

Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, Freiburg, Germany

for his ground-breaking contributions to understanding the evolution of the immune system in vertebrates. 

 

This year’s Heinrich Wieland Prize symposium was very special as we honoured and presented the award to the 2020 and 2021 Heinrich Wieland laureates in a joint scientific symposium and festive award ceremony.
