and

Professor Dr Thomas Boehm as 2021 Laureate

Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, Freiburg, Germany

for his ground-breaking contributions to understanding the evolution of the immune system in vertebrates.

This year’s Heinrich Wieland Prize symposium will be very special as we will honour and present the award to the 2020 and 2021 Heinrich Wieland laureates in a joint scientific symposium and festive award ceremony.

As the current regulations allow only a small number of guests at our traditional venue at Nymphenburg Palace in Munich, Germany, we decided to open the event for online participation. It will take place from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, 21 October 2021.

We will broadcast the symposium and award ceremony via livestream. Online participants can join in the discussions from around the world, meet with the laureates and speakers, and network and socialize in dedicated virtual spaces.

The registration deadline is 30 September 2021.
