Board of Trustees

The Heinrich Wieland Prize is endowed by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, which entrusts the selection of Heinrich Wieland Laureates to a scientific Board of Trustees. Every year the foundation invites scientists to make nominations in an open call. The trustees – all working in an honorary capacity – decide on the awardee based upon the scientific achievements of each candidate in his or her particular field of research.

The current board members are:

  • Professor Erick M. Carreira, PhD, ETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
  • Professor Dr F. Ulrich Hartl, Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany
  • Professor Dame Carol Robinson, PhD, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK
